RUDOLF JURNIKL

Known predominantly for his pressed glass designs, Rudolf Jurnikl worked for the Rudolfova Glassworks from 1960 onwards.  His best known design is the Hobnail, most commonly seen in the form of an ashtray.  These ashtrays regularly appear on ebay and other electronic auction sites as the work of Wedgwood or Whitefriars.  Rudolf studied at the Kamenicky Senov glass school before studying under Professor Karel Stipl at the Acadaemy of Appled Art in Prague in the Czech Republic.
