Eliptical bowl with blue threads, Kosta

Stock Number: 1767

This is what we believe to be an eliptical bowl designed by Vicke Lindstrand, manufactured by Kosta and dating from the mid 20th century, c1952-1953.

The bowl is in excellent condition for its age.  This means, of course, that it shows age related wear and tear, including light scratching, commensurate with 60+ years of use. It also has a minute burst bubble on the stem.  It has a "Lindstrand Kosta" mark on the foot.

The bowl includes two sets of spiral blue threads which overlap to create a net effect.  The bowl measures 13.2 cm (5.3 inches) in diameter at the rim at its widest point.  The bowl is 8 cm (3.2 inches) in height at its highest point.  There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any evidence of restoration.
