Sheringham candlestick, 1 disk, frigger

Stock Number: 5128c

This is what we believe to be a rare Sheringham sconce candlestick frigger or experimental piece, an end of day glass blown by one of the Sheringham glass blowers incorporating a white and topaz swirled knop.
The candlestick is in the clear colourway and is 11.5 cm (4.6 inches) in height.  It weighs 328 g. (~ 11 1/2 oz.).  Instead of an anulated disk as is normal in a Sheringham candlestick there is a large ball knop with a white enamel and topaz glass swirl inside of it.   There is no sand blasted "WEDGWOOD ENGLAND" mark to the foot, as it is probably an experimental piece or frigger.   There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious evidence of restoration.
